Rev.Evans was the Minister of the Portmore United Church which was congregated in 1977. He started the ministry by having prayer meetings in homes while the Church Hall was being built.

He was not only the master-mind behind the erection of the sanctuary but the builder of many broken lives. He had a zeal for stewardship and fundraising and encouraged his flock to commit energy, time and resources to the building projects.

Under his direction and guidance the discipleship programme got on the way. His dynamism and enthusiasm has enhanced the spiritual growth of the church.

Rev. Evans was serious about minstry and as such became the catalyst for moulding the congregation so it would have a great impact on the surround communities.The Land which houses the Hellshire United Church was acquired under his tenure.

Rev. Evans has served the Portmore United Church from 1977-1988.
